Volvo said that the “pedestrian” security system Detection Pedestrian, which the Scandinavian company presented last year, was taken as the basis of the new technology. The main components of innovative development are infrared camera and radar, which will scan the space in front of a moving machine. In particular, the security system is useful for driving in the dark, because it is during this period that the largest number of accidents with the participation of animals and cars occurs. If a living creature is detected on the carriageway, the device will first inform the driver with a sound signal, if there is a high probability of hitting the animal — the system itself will stop the vehicle.
