Building materials can be divided into several categories.

The materials from which the buildings or its elements are erected are building materials, these include: boards, bricks, concrete slabs. Finishing materials — these are granite slabs, wallpaper, ceramic tiles. A separate category of building materials include dry mixtures and solutions used to fasten building materials, fix and level.
