Holiday as
31.07.2017
Valentine’s Day took root very quickly in Orthodox Russia and does not find rejection even with the Russian Church because in that era there was not a split of the church into a Catholic and Orthodox. And all the saints who committed their feat before the split of the church, which took place in 1054, are considered Orthodox. But one of the contradictions is that Valentine’s Day in the Orthodox Church is celebrated on August 12 and is not related to the holiday of Catholic. And the Catholic clergy themselves also do not recognize this holiday as a church and consider it a national holiday, but not Christian. In the word Valentine’s Day causes a lot of contradictions.
