The Atkins diet became popular 15 years ago, when Dr. Atkins proposed his system of gaining former harmony. The essence of the diet is that the body draws vital energy from fat, which has accumulated in the body. The diet with such a diet is saturated with fats and poor in carbohydrates. The body gradually (within two to three weeks) gets used to such a diet, rebuilt, thereby bringing weight to normal.
